GNOME 45 Introduces New Image Viewer and Camera Apps: Here’s How They Work

The newest GNOME 45 release brings several new changes to the table, including two new, powerful image viewer and camera apps.

GNOME 45 introduces Loupe as the new default image viewer, offering a simple and intuitive way to view, copy, delete, and set desktop wallpapers of images. However, it lacks advanced editing features.
GNOME Camera is the new default app for webcams and smartphone cameras, providing a familiar interface with options to capture photos with a countdown timer, toggle shutter sound, and use a grid for composition. It can also record videos.
Although the new apps are default options, the previous image viewer (Eye of GNOME) and camera app (Cheese) are still available for download if preferred, offering additional features like image editing, artistic filters, and burst mode. GNOME continues its trend of simplifying and refining the user experience with new default apps.
